CRACKED NECK?

How is a 308,175 SMK affected when the neck cracks upon firing?
I'm using a custom Remington 700.
Could this be the cause of a flier?

no one will be able to answer this question with certainty. My guess is , yes. After getting a few head case seperations and catching the impacts on paper , i have seen that round deviate from the rest of the group. But that is casehead seperation, not a cracked neck.

so i couldn't say. Probably to an extent, but i dont know. I guess the question is when did the case neck crack , if it occured after the bullet left the barrel , then why would it effect your group ?

It could be the cause. Only more shooting of good rounds will tell you for sure. S

ALMOST anything that changes the velocity to change from shot to shot will make a difference in the point of impact, aka "flier".
