Taylor single barrel is some pretty tasty bourbon and Pappy’s is supposed to be better. Sure would like to try it some day but it’s above my pay grade. Last I saw it on sale it was north of $2,000.00 for a bottle?

Ive tried a number of fairly high $$$ bourbons and Pappy's is kind of in a league of its own. Very light and refined. The 12 year retails for about $60 if you can find it. Or it did. I was lucky and got several bottles a couple years before the local ABC store found out they could rape for a lot and now you have to sign up for a lottery. As good as it is a bottle of good cognac is even better. Not cheap, $150-$200 but you can buy it off the shelf anyday.

I'm mainly a cheap beer drinker. I don't mind the fact that it makes me piss and shit at 0400. Only problem is I don't get out of bed until 0500. ;)

Do you have a particular brand of cognac that strikes your fancy? Don’t drink much anymore but when I do it’s not Low grade Jack Daniels? Taylor is about as low as I’ll go?

One of my favorites thats not too expensive is Pierre Ferrand. This is the most expensive Ive bought, Selection de las Anges, usually runs $150-180. But well worth it if you like fine spirits. the next one up the line, Abel, goes for closer to $450-$500.

Pierre Ferrand Sélection des Anges
A deep mahogany color. The nose opens on scents of jasmine tea, honeysuckle and walnut, followed by oaky vanilla, chocolate and a hint of curry. The bouquet expands on notes of candied fruit, saffron spices, ginger and honey mingled with nutmeg and cedarwood. Pierre Ferrand Sélection des Ange…

Remy Martin is of course the Gold Standard kind of like Schmidt and Bender. XO and above.

This is the kind of sick lunacy that makes me think people are on acid or full of shit, just like wine tasting. Fucking chocolate and fruit and shit in a drink that doesn’t have any chocolate nor fruit. Completely over my head

As a rule, I don’t like the hard stuff. Brother talked me into a ice cold shot of Taylor single barrel while camping. Bourbon that is so good it doesn’t taste like bourbon (Jack Daniels as example). I could actually sip and enjoy it.....along with a cold Kilt Lifter of course? Don’t drink much so I can afford the good stuff when I do and now a campfire tradition.

Ok, now I can understand that. It’s these weirdos with a glass swirling the shit and commenting on the hints of this and that that drive me nuts. People really think they can really taste all that shit in there.
