This was an interesting build so I thought I'd share this. A pure custom build for a real deal operator. Build wrapped up in perfect time too since the customer is returning from deployment any day now.

Some of the spec info on this one:

Remington 700 action (.308 caliber)
APA Tactical Knob
Broughton #6 18" barrel with 1:10 twist
McRee's Precision stock (we added the Special Forces crest on both sides of stock per customer request)
Timney trigger set at 2 pounds
Leupold 62150 scope in GG&G mount
AAC 51-tooth 762-SD suppressor

On June 16 Dave Walker shot a 3-shoot, 100-yard group with 168-grain Fed Gold Match measuring .116".

The rig weighs in at just over 17 pounds. Before I get David to build me one of these I need to hit the gym a little harder. LOL.

Do you get any flex in that MARS rail? I heard they vibrate on the barrel when shot..... might just be internet chatter but was always curious.

Lovely rig!

I haven't ever noticed any.

Re: Custom build in a McCree Precision stock

I have used many different platforms with MARS rail by McCann. Most of the time you have lasers and nightvision or thermal devices mounted in front of scope. The only way that they would vibrate or resonate would be if improperly installed. My experience is that this application is solid and the best for quick attach applications.

Was wondering the same thing. Maybe the pic was from before it was added? Regardless, that's an absolutely gorgeous rig!

Could we get some close ups of this rig? What kind of options can go with the butt-stock? Monopods or threaded thumb turns to eliminate sand bags?

Re: Custom build in a McCree Precision stock

That is one sexy mofo. I was trying to decide on a chassis system/stock for my rifle but I think this just sold me on the way to go. Great work.

Re: Custom build in a McCree Precision stock

For the people running this stock how well do you like it? Is it heavy or cumbersome do you have the ability to shoot off hand with it? Does the rear stock fold out rock solid? Thanks folks reading all the info I can find.
