Gunsmithing Custom Buttplate

I have a Richard's Microfit laminated sotck for a 22 I am building for/with my son. It did not come with a butt plate, and I am now looking around for something somewhat cool/unique. Not looking for an artisan/handcrafted $1,000 piece - just something cooler than standard black plastic.

There are some unique butt plates out there! Here is a picture of one on one of my S&W 686s.
