Looking for recommendations on purchasing a custom reamer for my barrel blank. Would like to send in a "dummy" 7 Rem Mag with the 162 AMAX loaded at magazine length (with clearance built in for the length) and discuss throat lead in angle, throat tightness ect.

Was considering Clymers- anyone have any input?

My first choice would not be Clymer. JGS would be my first choice with PTG as a second choice. I just happen to like Cary a little better in the service I've gotten from him from the beginning. Nothing wrong with PTG. Clymer did me a little wrong in the beginning, so I prefer not to go there.

I too own more PTG reamers than JGS, and they have all been just fine. So please don't get the wrong idea that I have had any bad experience at PTG. I have a lot of respect for Dave Kiff who has spent time on the phone with me trying to help me out when I've had questions about tooling, and or parts. Again, I met with JGS first, and really like their reamers, but they don't often have what I need on hand, so I have to wait on them.

Alrighty. Gonna just give PTG a call monday if I don't hear back via email. Also shot an email to JGS so Ill just play the "who's on first" game and see who responds faster.

Definitely want a carbide reamer as my experience with HSS is... subpar... then again, I mess with inconel, titanium and MP35 to list a few materials that sometimes piss me off.
