I have a 700P that I want to get the barrel chopped down to 20in, maybe even 18in and recrowned. Anyone know of anyone from Laredo to Corpus, or up to San Antonio and Houston, that is good at doing this?

There used to be a really good rifle gunsmith in San Marcos but its been a long time since Ive lived in Tx. You might ask the people at SWFA or at TAC PRO Shooting Center (Accuracy International) who to use. I would suggest you consider having it threaded and put a Smith Vortex flash suppressor on at the same time.
