I know it's been mentioned before, but DIP just made me bottom metal for my CZ 455 Precision Trainer and the gun has a Timney trigger already installed. I am sure I must have to dremel some off the bottom metal, but if I had a picture to go by it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

A Timney trigger is physically much like a 700 trigger in that the internals are all in a square frame (the portion that requires inletting the stock.) The CZ trigger is a long "shoe" which attaches to the acton.

It is the square trigger housing that is contacting the DIP bottom metal when torqued down. I just want to see what others have done to clearance it before I start dremeling!

Well, I got about 1 minute in and my Dremel battery died. I will take some pics when I finish up.

I lined the bottom metal up on the barreled action and used a sharpie to draw the forward most contact point as well as the rear. I am going remove material, test fit, and repeat until I find the proper fit.

Updates to follow.

Sounds like you have it figued out. If you want to keep it looking good after there is enough clearence for the proper fit use a flat file to clean the cut up. It damn hard to cut good straight lines with a dremel so touching it up with a file works nice.

I killed a dremel battery working on it last night, I have just a bit more to go tonight and then I'll post it up!

Post some pics when you are done, my 455pt ships tomorrow. The timney is going to be my first upgrade

Btillr,
Just so you know you will have to also open up the stock for the Timney. The body of the trigger is too wide and is a "slip fit" in to the stock. It is easy to do and dosnt require much to be removed. Just take the trigger before you install it in the action and put it into place in the stock. You will see what needs to be done. The trigger should not be touching anything but the action when assembled.

The channel isn't long enough, it needs to be lengthened at the back of the stock before it'll even go in. I had already done that before you got a hold of the gun and did the additional inletting that you described above.

Guys, this has been a slow process (modifying the bottom metal.) I'm almost done. It isn't pretty and I removed some material that didn't have to, but the good news is it'll all be hidden once together.

Any update?

Yep.

Ugly as hell, but hidden so it doesn't matter. Remove material, test fit in stock, test fit on barreled action to see where it contact trigger, remove material there, repeat repeat repeat.
