Random question, I am wanting to see if anyone has made a rear entry cz 527 ( mini mauser) action wrench that is through the bolt. Already have the outer wrench, it would be so much easier with a rear entry bolt and torque wrench. Any info, most appreciated.

I have not made one for a 527 but it'd be pretty easy with a lathe and mill with a bit of 1" OD 6061-T6 Aluminum stock. Just mimic the dimensions of the bolt and then cut a hex on the back end for a wrench. I made a couple in a similar fashion for a Rem 700, Pierce Engineering and a Bat Tactical using 7075 aluminum. A 12mm socket could easiy supply more than 125ftlbs (I know because I tested it) and 7075 should be fairly non-marring when compared to receiver steel.

I dug them out and snapped a pic. I use a 6" x 3/8" extension with a nylon sleeve to protect the rear of the raceway. On ~.700" diameter raceways I find a Craftsman 12mm 6-point socket fits in there fine. On a CZ 527 you'll have to find something that will work that's smaller than the 15mm diameter bolt body.

Thats awesome, great idea, only reason im tinkering with the 527 is for the smaller varmint cases like 17 hornet and the even smaller mink series of cases. Gonna get some dimensions on the bolt and mill up some scrap pieces , thank you again for the idea.

We just used a mouser type, and turned the top upside down. There is a flat on top and bottom, the barrels aren’t on very tight. Super cool action, great easy to tune trigger.
Couple of my favorites are a 20practical and a 6mm Grendel.

My 527 barrel was ON THERE. I couldn't get it off in my 4-jaw lathe chuck and had to take it to a local gunsmith who has more specialized tooling for loosening the most stubborn barrels. I was amazed at how much torque (clamping force) was applied to such a small shoulder inside the receiver ring.

I've had four 527s in .223 Remington pass through my hands and, in my experience, they are not a very consistent product in terms of how (rough) the bolts run, how the triggers feel and how accurate they are, but they do wear in and once you address all the trivial issues (the biggest hiccup IMO is the 16mm dovetail) they are great little guns.
