I own and have shot a match with a cz455 so Im aware of the performance of their barrels in .22LR. I live near a prarie dog town so im thinking a .17 would be fun.

What are good options for barrels and how do the factory barrels shoot?

Im not really considering a Lilja simply because the intended use doesnt call for a barrel of that price.

come to mind. Both are less $ compared to Lija. I think they are both considered good barrels.

I checked on those two manufacturers and it doesnt appear that they will chamber a barrel in 17hmr

Just buy the factory barrel. Not perfect but serviceable.

Sounds like a plan to me. The factory barrel kits are super reasonable. Cant imagine being real disappointed with that price

For the 17HMR the factory kit is very nice. I average sub MOA with it at 100. Sometimes .75-.5 on low wind days. You can always send it back if it doesn't work out for you (If its due to issue with the workmanship).

My factory CZ 452 .17HMR is my only true 1 hole gun. Shot my first ever 5 shot 1 hole group with it. And that is a tiny hole when you walk up to the target! I've probably killed at least a thousand whistle pigs with a HMR! Great for mornings and evenings when the wind is calm. Shoot a .17 at Pdogs for a day and you'll learn more about wind than you did in all your previous shooting combined!
