Just got my Tacticool stock for my CZ452 American. Stock looks real nice and will be a big step-up for prone shooting. Question is that I noticed it does not have a mill in the back of the reciever for the rear action screw piller that slides into the dovetail in the action. Is this something I have to mill out then bed?

Re: CZ452 install into Boyds Tacticool

I just got one my self for my 452 in 17 HMR...The magnum footprint did not match this stock, so I had to do quite a bit of inletting, including the rear "pillar". (Used a piloted forstner bit)

You did not indicate whether your is magnum or non magnum - I presumed that the non magnum version did not have the pillar as my stock did not accomodate it...so I am curious as to your response.

If you look closely there is nothing at the rear of the action on the 452. The rear factory screw is for holding the rear of the trigger guard. I used a self tap screw for the rear. The action is held by the center screw to the stock.
This is my little 452 American with Boyds stock.

I've already received the Tacticool stock a while ago and now waiting for the 452 American to arrive. Now I know who to ring/PM for help if I can not put the two together.

Yep, I have an American model with two action screws (front/rear). I didn't know there were different setups based on model.. who made these things Savage!? :)

Guess I'll have to do a little modification to get it in. Looks like for the American I'll have to mill out for the rear action pillar and in the front of the magazine well for the tang. Will probably have to bed as well.

Dang, and I just wanted to drop it in.

Update.. milled out the back for the rear action pilar and open up for rear action screw. Once done, dropped right in.
