Croydon has a history of being a very tough blue collar neighborhood .
Just a few anecdotes for your reading pleasure .
About twenty five years ago some kids were hanging on a neighborhood corner with a cooler full of beer . A local thirty something loser asked for a beer and was rold to fuck off . Mr. Loser thought this was all in fun and help3d himself to a beer .
Being that he was told no they did the next logical thing shooting him with a flare gun and setting h8m on fire .
Neiborhood boys oder a pizza from Pop's Pizza . Pops himself shows up to deliver said oven baked delicious treat . Boys chase Pops around the hood shooting him twice in an attempt to mug him .
Up until the Sixties if your drivers license said you were from croydon alot of bars would deny you entry .
One day while driving thru the hood a group of roughly ten teenagers rushed my car attempting to kit it as it went by . I screeched to a stop got out and was immediatley surrounde by said upstanding yute . One walked up , got right in my face and informed me that " we're sixteen and seventeen , we're gonna fuck you up and if you hit any of us we'll sue . " I commended him on his brilliance and informed him that he would be the first to die . When I went for him they scattered like roaches .
I could go on with more stories but you get the idea . And yet some of the nicest people I know live there .

While not Sherman Oaks I wouldn't say Chester . But then when I think of it I think of the City of Chester . That is akin to escape from NY . I worked down there and had some near death fucked up incidents in that shithole .

Being sort of the back lower corner of PA, yeah, shithole pretty much applies, like the back end of a squatting dog. South DelCo can be brutal in spots, but Chester is a war zone.

I kinda lost interest for a while, figuring it (the Hide website) would work itself out in time. J's .gif really fascinated me as a newb, "way back when". Would really love to see .gifs work again, particularly his. I suspect bandwidth issues relegate that function to the bottom of the stack.

I know a couple guys from croydon, I wouldn't want to fight them as I'm pretty sure that's how they spent all their free time growing up.

There is a nice gun shop there, picked up a case of .405 Winchester there a few years back for cheap as they had been sitting for quite a while. I guess there isn't a lot of people in the suburbs looking to hunt lions.
