Day xxtwoxx Four without power...

Don't get used to it......the Utility is going to power you back up, thereby fucking up your otherwise excellent plan.....I 'spose you could just not pay your bill. But, the shutoff would probably occur at a less than ideal time about 60 days from now...

Steaks on the grill... Beer cold in salt cooler. Wood stove keeping house toasty. If this keeps up I am going to gain weight....

Phone working great on mini solar charger. Keyboard sucks. Great excuse for controversial remarks.

Cheers, Sirhr

Thinking this due to a n early snow, Ill say, controversilly, "Fuck a bunch of snow."

Tropical storm... Half new England without power. The northern half. So we don't notice.

Good news is that after 6 week drought my pond filled up 8 inches overnight. Back to top of bank....

Busenhalter 6 is hanging in... But going nuts wout facebook.

Silly flatlander in her...

Cheers, Sirhr

8 inches ... filled up... there's a joke in there somewhere.

Would you care to rephrase that?

Hah!, now that is funny!

Now, in terms of Eartha......you mean Catwoman ? After careful review, no, now I'm even more committed to my original statement.

Care should be exercised, but hell yes, I'd hit that (well, maybe 40 years ago.....), how about you ? Proof positive;

http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/Catwoman_(Eartha_Kitt)

Julie Newmar too......

http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/Catwoman_(Julie_Newmar)

and especially, Michelle Pfeiffer. Raarrrrr...........meowwww......

http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/Catwoma...helle_Pfeiffer)

I'd like to spend (or would have liked to have spent) some quality time with any/all of them in the Batcave.........

Threadcutter, how the hell old are you? If Eartha was around she'd be 90, Julie is 84 and Michelle in 3 years can start on Social Security.

hah, hah, hah,.......old (61 in December)........so, now that that's established......

(I did put some qualifiers in my post......If I was even in the running, it would be MP. Not that I would be in the running, I know and am more than comfortable with that). Please don't take offense, but I'm thinking you are female (Title; Aviatrix was my first clue :p)......methinks you are wayyyyy over analyzing an old, white guy's long since over with fantasies. Maybe I'm wrong....

Besides, the young 'uns, even though they are low drag/high speed, are wayyyy too costly in terms of maintenance and comfort for me. I totally kid...... I've been married (my first and only) for 35 years and I plan on expiring/leaving this world in her arms and I will never do anything to undermine that. I've encouraged her to start shopping around for a "Guatemalan Pool Boy" for when I'm gone......(she hasn't said no.....). She's been with me through good and bad and vis versa. We're dinosaurs, in the minority, I'm afraid. But, it's always been worth standing up and fighting for.

Life's been very good, I'm lucky and blessed, hope the same for you and your's :D

(BTW, would love to hear some of your favorite piloting stories, as I think many others here would as well......Insider topics tend to be the best......Don't be shy.....)

Still,no power. Decided to rip out kitchen. Made, easier,by not, having,to hunt breakers. Generator running so I have lightbulb fridge and charger. Busenhalter 6 gave up and went to a hotel. After, blogging, for two days that she is a country girl.,, she's not.

I got off easy. More than 300 power poles, down I, town. Must have been small, tornado or,microbirst. A,lot,of barn roofs gone or ripped open. No danage at all to the schloss. Just no power.

Have fun... Back on a few days. Going to be consumed, with building new, kitchen next few days. Long overdue,

Cheers. Sirhr

I'm somewhat surprised you don't have a generator.

I do. But it is a pos and a pita. Its running now. In 40 years my family has, been here... We,have never, lost, power for, more than 4 hours. Never, saw, need,to invest several k on a generator. I just have my little one from deer camp. And it was, stored with stuff all, atound it. Running now. So beer is cold. All good.

Cheers, Sirhr

The first clue was that she was blogging. Then again, I'm pretty sure mine would have given up when the lights went out...

My wife made me put in a 27K whole house generator 2 years back and we have not lost power since. We live in central Indiana and the storms have split as they come over our small town for the last 2 years. My wife goes out and waxes the generator twice a year and talks to it.....I think something is wrong???lol

Watched it happen many, many times. Out in the country the power lines have large, cleared easements. In town, they let the trees grow right up to the power lines. The downside of being out in the country is when you do have a lot of damage to power lines, you aren't first on the list to get it repaired.

Has she given it a name yet? Like "Nick"? :p

Been there. Bought a nice snowblower 3 years ago. Hasn't snowed enough since to even warm it up. If I had known that was going to happen I would have bought it a lot sooner!

Thank you,
Mr.Smith

Still nada... But one lightbulb and fridge runnong on deer camp gen. African engineered wireless router, too. As cell service just took a dump. Apparently No one cares since we are,not Puerto Rican.

All good. Kitchen is down to studs and plumbed. Move some electrical boxes, tomorrow. Using time to get shit done. Not at all bad.

Cheers, sirhr

sirhr - food for thought. Lightly used generators, that are not functioning properly, are plentiful. I picked up a 10kVA Kubota diesel powered Kohler genset for $800.00. It had 300 hours on the Hobbs meter. It would start and quickly shut down. About 5 hours of my time and a $6.00 relay solved the problem. Runs the entire home with no special attention or lifestyle changes.

Leaning that way... That said... Having a noce up a, a garlic naan some major Gray chutney and a hunk of local blue cheese for dinner. Relaxed. Definity caught up on sleep last, few, days. Life is not bad. Though worrying about catching Hanta from tje shot in my kitchen walls.... But that's a Long shot. Stay safe you folks plagued with aloha snack bar types....

Never again I went through that drill for years and as long as 8 days back during Ike. I bought a whole house generator and 10 seconds after an outage everything is back on! :)

She'es home.... and on her way to get Thai. She's going to be doing a lot of that for the next 10 days.

That said, Kitchen is down to the studs. I finished all the new plumbing. Finished the new wiring this evening (in record time... ) Tomorrow the pine arrives to replace the sheetrock. The cabinets are in my trailer. Only fly in ointment is that I can't use the old vent hood (which is too bad, because it is a super high-power unit. Dual squirrel cages. But it's top venting... would require massive re-engineering of some load bearing outer walls. So had to order a new vent hood. Got one for a good price... but they are long lead time.

So looking forward to new. I pulled the damn cabinets down and 20,000 little bug eyes were looking at me going "Dude, we were sleeping here... WTF." RAIDDDDD

Cheers,

Sirhr

The streaming Hornet and Wasp killer from True Value @ $2.50/can is the shizzle. A drop of just the mist hitting them knocks 'em right over and they never get up again. I actually go looking for hornet nests to hose down with the stuff. Unless you're down to fumes in the first can, you don't need to worry about carrying a second/backup. They ought to name it "Unfair Advantage"......

Turns out our scheduled power outage was for Nov2, not Nov 4, Nov 4 was our day to get DirecTV installed after Valley Telecom, our Cable provider, exited the Cable TV market as of Nov 1.

Never a dull moment, except that Saturday, Nov. 4 was an entire dull day. We went to the Casino; if something was going to brew, what of it? Casinos have excellent security, I'm told...

Elena attended the Rob Zombie Concert in Tucson, on the Casino grounds.

When God gives you lemons...

Antifa, who...?

PS, This AM, I deftly whisked the entrapped mouse from our Granddaughter's closet onward to its grand journey tour to the great water ride in the sky...; or something... First mouse sighted in the preceding year and a half. We got this handled...

Hanta? Nope.

Two cats, two terriers, and we had to handle the mouse ourselves. Those intrepid pets of ours must be unionized...
