I mistaking loaded some 338 Lapua shells with the incorrect neck tension. My question is if I resize them and deprime them would the primers still be useable? I suppose it would be possible to remove the depriming rod and just resize them but any advice would be much appreciated. Also, I just loaded these shells for a ladder test with 215m primers. However, I have only been able to find Federal 215 primers (Non Match) online and recently ordered 1000 of them. How much of a difference in results do you think I would notice going from 215m to 215? Again thank you very much in advance.

Shotguns fire shells, pistol/rifle cartridges use 'cases.'

Just go slowly when pushing them back out and things should be fine with no bang. I've used primers that I've had to punch out in the past and they've been fine.

If you're worried and you haven't done a lot of them, you can save them for plinking ammo, if you want.

You can resize them with the correct bushing and not even deprime them if you want. Remove the decapping rod, as you surmised and install the right bushing.

I have both 215s and 215Ms and use the 215Ms in my 338LM and 7RM reloads.

If you want to be safe, consider this, primers are cheap, fingers & eyeballs, ain't. Just load'em into the rifle, & drop the hammer on the primers. Then deprime & start over.

while I have deprimed many live primers using the above advice of going slow, putting on ear eye pro and gloves, only 1 at a time and pulling the primer out of the spent primer cup before doing the next one...the last advice is smart also.

None. 215 and 215M are the same primers, no difference in performance or manufacture. The only difference is the 215M are supposed to be made by their more experienced guys and theoretically should be a bit more consistent. I believe they get an extra quality control inspection step.
