For the first 1500 rounds of a custom build I've mostly single fed rounds. (Primarily because they've always been clumsy to magazine feed.)
I had my smith look at my feeding problems and he "tuned" the magazine feed lips to see if it improved. It hasn't. The problem is, after a round or two, invariably one will get caught, jammed below the feed ramp against the action and fail to chamber unless I re-seat it. While at the shop, we tried a pMag and Alpha mag, but neither fit properly in the mag well.
Also, if I look into the mag well, it almost looks like the action sits an 1/8” inside the forward part of the mag well. The bottom of the action where the rounds move up and into is not flush with the stock cutout. Don’t know if that’s normal.
It looks like a following round is being shoved forward, maybe while chambering the previous round?
It’s a Defiance Deviant bedded in a Manners T6A stock with Hawkins DBM.
I also ordered a new Alpha 10 round mag and the first round sits angled nose down and very difficult to feed. Can’t even attempt to chamber the second round.
Anyone have any idea what is causing this?
Thanks
