Desert Precision Gunworks 22LR Action Updates

Will the receiver be nitrided as well or just the bolt assembly? I looks like from the video it's almost a matte stainless look? I've had a raw stainless receiver before that was polished at had a tendency to almost blind me with the right reflection in the sun.

It looks awesome, can't wait to get my hands on it!

Thanks, J_D. I’m obliged.
I ordered a TacSport with a low sear from Bullet Central for a RimX a while back based off an ancient post from padom. Mediums now work best with that, fwiw.
I’m swapping triggers/canibalizing parts now and realize I’m probably going to be short a medium when my number comes up for the DPG. Now I can try to get ahead of the curve.

I have run trigger tech diamonds for awhile now, but Kenny sent me that BnA pro, and it’s pretty awesome. I’m going that route from now on.

A moment ago I discovered another question. It looks like the action has a recoil lug. If so, how thick is it?
The action uses a 0.250'' +- recoil lug that I am now having to make also. Instead of integrating the recoil lug, having ability to adjust thickness of these recoil lugs will help with any tolerance stacking. This will keep tenon measurements the same for shops that will be building barrels off of along with the extractor cut timing.
This also allows me to utilize the WTO switch lug to give shooters the choice to have a field swappable rifle to shooter 22 MAG/17HMR and also 22LR with this style lug.

I personally think the BIX triggers are awesome. They are serviceable and don't have a void tag if you ever need to remove the cover plates to clean. I personally run the Bix Tac Sport Pro and Dakota triggers on my competition rigs. This action isn't picky on the trigger height. The trigger pins are set to the standard Remington 700 measurements so they use the medium height sears for Bix Triggers. I also do not need a trigger hanger because this action uses the V22 firing pin assembly. This allows the user to set sear engagement. Mr. Mike Bush putout a really good video on how this system works and clarified the mass confusion and miss information about the V22 system

Yes, the action body and bolt assemblies will be Nitride, I am also looking into additional coatings

Thank you, Kenny!

I intend to drop the barreled action into a Xylo, so now I know which lug clamp I need.

As for Bix triggers, I agree. The problem with them being user serviceable and buying them second (or third? fourth?) out of frugality is that one never knows what previous owners have done. Eg, one TacSport Pro I purchased off a forum had a missing set screw on the bottom sear that adjust sear engagement. I don’t think that was the seller’s fault, and I have already canibalized that part to repair a trigger that I suspect had been cleaned improperly. The entire innards were gummy, and the bottom sear was seized to the housing. Worrying with a pair of needle nose pliers eventually broke it free, and I figure I damaged the sear trying to remove it. Excrement occurs. That the seller said he preferred TriggerTechs makes sense now! 🤣

I’m a tinkerer and get my kicks solving problems, though. Which is also why I appreciate Mr. Bush’s video you posted and the ones you share. Sure, I’ll get accused of blowing sunshine up your skirt—or worse!—but I enjoy learning and am grateful for those who “learn me.”

All parts of this action are finalized and I've been making parts in batches on the two machines I have currently. Our small family buisness just made some huge investments and we are trying to make this product without taking any pre orders or investors. While still fulfilling CZ457 and centerfire rifle orders

According to the back instock request for this, I dont want to launch this product and not be able to keep up with demand. I also certainly do not want to outsource any of these parts or I risk having quality issues and fulfillment issues like what happened with Vudoo. Any outsourcing is a huge risk to the product and quality.

Our shop is waiting to receive 3 new DNX 2100 CNCs and 2 five axis CNCs. This Tuesday we have a meeting with Dan Matticks, the inventor of the DNX 2100 and main engineer of DN Solutions (Formally Doosan) as well as a team of applications engineers and our Machine Reps. We will be discussing and making plans to have full support to supply this product as well as a plan to optimize floor space and integrate some automation and robot arms. Applications will be assisting turn key programing so when these machines hit the floor, they are pumping out parts. For those that dont know, this is huge to have happen in the manufacturing industry. This will be a meeting of the best manufacturing and machining expirence in the industry. Quality in machining will improve with these state of the art machines and processes will be made to keep up with demand.

Patience is all I can ask for. This project took less than 6 months, where as others have taken 2+ years and had a base line action to build off of.
Our goal is to give our community a quality competition 22lr action that hopefully sets the bar in this industry.
