The victim didn’t know of this obscure law either , And thought he was being robbed and kidnapped.

Note all the serious crimes against this guy were dropped , except the traffic violation that there is no evidence of AFTER the video of the insane mass murder chief of police road raging on someone .

One of the charges was of course DUI- I have hard time believing they’d drop that charge if there is any evidence of that what so ever .

Body cams have been outstandingly positive!

As a civil libertarian, I have been shocked at what cops still get up to with cameras rolling. Imagine what they would be doing without them.

So you want rouge agents of the State dispensing vigilante justice in the street??? Judas priest!

There are some damn good cops out there. My best friend, a Lieutenant is one of them. He would not agree with cops issuing illegal beat downs because the cameras are not rolling. He tells me to video any interaction with LEO.

It has been my experience that there are too many cops out there that are poorly trained, ego maniac, dickheads and DEI, to be allowing that kind of power.

There are things we could be doing to support cops.

Stop canonizing them. They are citizens trained, and paid to do a job.
Reel in their unions
Stop telling them how dangerous their job is when it’s not even in the top 10.
Completely revamp POST training and get rid of the them versus us mentality.
Stop teaching cops that a firearm equals crime in a country that has a second amendment.
Provide better funding
Demilitarize
Teach de-escalation-without losing sight of the need for escalation
Two cops per patrol car
Make body cams mandatory
Kill qualified immunity
Mandatory legal training to properly know and understand the laws they are enforcing.
Better pay
Kill DEI

IMHO youre correct here. The second factor (which you mentioned) the militarization of the police, which really began with President Cheney. Giving them near unlimited power, without accountability, is pure foolishness.
