Difference in a Savage 10 and Savage Axis actions?

My rifle started life as a Savage 10 in .308 in an Accustock with detachable bottom metal. An A-5, Obermeyer .260 and CDI bottom metal later, if I get another left hand short action with 4.4" screw spacing I can reassemble the .308 and have a rifle my stepson can shoot. Today, on Bud's I saw Savage Axis LH rifles for $265. That's cheap enough to buy the rifle and pilfer the action from.

Will it work?

Get a Stevens 200 it is the same action or a savage 110 no accu trigger. The Axis is a diffrent action all together.

Ok, thanks. The 110 is a .30-06 bolt I believe.

One good thing about savages they are all built on long actions.Sorry let me correct myself stevens are the old savage 110 action.
