Differences between AI PSR and AXMC

I have a couple of questions regarding the AI PSR. What is the primary difference between the PSR, rifle itself, and the AXMC besides the deployment kit? Would I be able to order it in black or does it only come in FDE? Is it still in production or only as an order per basis? How many were produced if it is out of production? Is the AXMC an updated version of the PSR w/ refinements? Thanks.

From what I understand the barrel tenon is larger on the PSR. The PSR was only made once for a contract trial. The AXMC uses the quick change barrel and stock from the PSR program. The PSR was not adapted but will continue to be supported from AINA. So very similar but different.

Forgot to mention, the biggest difference is the receiver size. The PSR uses a long action and the AXMC uses a short action at this point. The AX338 has a similar sized receiver to the PSR but they haven't released the MC version of it yet.

The other differance is you can get a short action or long action in the AXMC. If you get the long action you can get the barrels and adapter for the mag well to shoot .308,6.5cr. Note the short action barrels will not fit the long action due to smaller thread pattern.
I have the PSR and had them add the 6.5cr barrel when got it.

I did speak with the AI boys at the Shot Show and they said that they would be available but I wasn't given a time frame so I guess there is hope....
The only reason I got the full PSR Kit was I had planed to buy a .338 LM and 6.5 CR. When I did the math it was cheaper to buy the PSR and one scope vs. two rifles and two scopes.

A magnum AXMC is the same thing as a PSR minus the extras.

308 conversion bolts and mag adaptor will be available. What I have been told is only 308 barrels will be available for the magnum though. You could have just about any smith make you a barrels if you want another cal.

Additional barrels/calibers for the AXMC magnum action will be available from MHSA. Both in magnum calibers as well SA calibers.

I was watching he AXMC video by Lowlight and he mentions that the AXMC long action is smaller and lighter than the PSR. I thought it was the same as the PSR minus the kit.

Maybe he was talking about the short action? Because I'm not sure "how" they could have made the Long Action smaller or lighter than the PSR.......

I am also looking at getting a 300 norm barrel made. I guess I will call Randy at Mile High and find out who they are having make the barrels. The 6.5 looks just like the stock AI barrels minus dots to tell what barrel you 1dot =.308 2 dots=.300 3 dots=.338

Pretty sure tooley does all of Mile highs barrels. You can also call Gap because if I remember correctly they've got the correct profiled barrels in stock for it.
