im not a gunsmith, but im pretty tool savvy. my dad has worked on guns a little too. im thinking about getting a savage 10fp thats in a B&C duramaxxx stock and replacing that stock with the B&C A3 or stockade prarie dog special stock. how hard would this replacement be in yalls opinion? you think it could be done buy my dad and i? thanks

Re: difficulty of replacing the stock

Not hard to do, but you will probably need to skim bed with Marine Tex or Devcon in order to reap any real benefits. Search the Hide for bedding articles and remember that the rear tang on the Savage action needs to float free.

i thought that the stockade stock i would have to bed myself but i though B&C stocks came aluminum bedded? i know this is a huge jump in price and quality but would i have to bed it if i went with an manners mcs-t1 stock?
