Just wanted to tell everyone my experience with Dillon. I purchased my reloader a couple years ago off of Craigslist from a old guy who was getting out of the sport. Over the past few months some of the plastic pieces have become fragile and broken. I called Dillon explained the situation, the rep
(Dave) I was speaking with said "no problem" and sent everything I needed at no charge. When I recieved the parts one of them would not work due to an upgrade so I called Dillon back (I knew this time I would have to pay for something) I explain the issue and again they shipped the parts to upgrade my machine out at no charge.

This company advertises a no B.S. warranty and thats what you get from them.

As far as I am concerned there is no other manufacturer of progressive reloading equipment. If all companies operated with this kind of customer service and integrity we could return America to its former glory and stop importing from other countries.

Thanks Dillon!!!!!!

Re: Dillion presicion

I bought a 550 a few years back to reload pistol and recently started loading for precision rifle. The 550 is reloading rifle just fine , rifle is holding .5 MOA with ammo reloaded by me and I could not be happier with my Dillon. I started to buy a single stage but will keep on loading with the Dillon because it is loading such damn good loads.

Re: Dillion presicion

Dillons warrantt and customer service is simply over the top. But, you pay for it up front. Hornady isnt losing money on their progressive - I promise! Not to mention, with the Hornady you basically get a 650 for the price of a 550...but they're usually on sale for $400, plus you get 500 bullets too! Hornadys warranty is no slouch - but it aint like Dillon!

Not bashing Dillon, I have a 550 and 650 on my bench.

+1 on loading precision rifle with a Dillon. My 650 with casefeeder is *the* whip. I just don't understand why people think they need a single stage to load excellent rifle ammo... You can lead a horse to water but....

Re: Dillion presicion

Dillon and Hornady both have great customer service and warranties. The difference I see is that Dillon overnights parts to me while Hornady uses snail mail.

Agreed. Especially true if you charge cases by hand. The only argument I could see against using a 550, which I own and love, is the possibility of slop in the floating toolhead. I'm thinking this would only come into play with a micrometer bullet seating die. I've seen some aftermarket toolheads with supposedly higher quality tolerances but not sure it's worth the money.

And to the OP, couldn't agree more. My 550 is second-hand and I've been 100% satisfied when calling for advice (CCI primers are hard loading into un-swaged 223 cases) or spare parts (broken plastic primer warning system).

Re: Dillion presicion

My 650 has OEM floating toolhead, and I seat with a forster ultra mic. My ammo us always better than .0015" TIR for concentricity, and my length to ogive is +/- .002".

My rifle limits my accuracy to a little better than 1/2 moa, not my reloading schema. I've loaded for my buddies SAC 308 on my 650 and been rewarded with 40 cal bugholes for 10 round groups.

Must be west of the Mississippi only. Takes four days to get to my house.

Re: Dillion presicion

I have used Dillion precision staring with the Dillion 1000 and the XL 650. Now I have a Super 1050 and don't expect a warranty with that one as they consider it a commercial machine, even if you do not load as a business. Other than that I have had good luck with mine and I will have another 1050 super next year.
