I haven't shot my M82 in about 8 years but I want to start again. Never pressed 50 but would like to. Anyone here own or try the Dillon press? I've used a 550 for a few years now an really like it, but not sure where to start with a 50 press.

Ive had a xl 650 for years. Left it out in the barn when I got married, and it got nasty. Rust, dirt dobbers, ext.. It was locked up like a vice. Sent it in to Dillon and they rebuilt it as well as put a bunch of new parts that were trashed. Got it back running like a top and they charged me $40 for everything including shipping. I've since cranked out roughly 5000 rounds on it. Everything I've ever got from them has been great stuff and wouldn't hesitate to give 50 press a try.
Should have got a 1050 and forgot about the wife, would have been a hell of a lot cheaper in the long run!

I saw the Dillon BFR in their store. It looks impressive no doubt. However, it is a bit cost prohibitive for me at least. I just have the Ammo Master II from RCBS. No complaint

Yeah, you know, I just noticed that their proprietary carbide die costs $800!!! Talk about cost prohibitive. I think I agree with you guys about that one. Think I will look elsewhere.

A lot of things in life are governed by the "Furry Magnet Factor"
With the benefit of hindsight a lot of things could be done in a more self fulfilling manner in a lot more cost efficient way ( ie: you would spend a lot less time at work paying off shit you do not need. And spend money on stuff that gave you genuine pleasure)
Like that S&B scope 5-25 etc etc
Downunder its called "little head logic".
It is where the the little head steals all the blood from the big head and clouds ones judgement.
