I was looking all over for a cheek rest that did only that, no pockets, no ammo storage, no buckles or straps, just line up my eyeball with the center of the scope. I should have taken pics of the process. For the riser, I took 4 strips of scrap 3/16" saddle leather and contact cemented them in a stack, clamped to a piece of 1/2" rod, forming a radius to sit nicely on the top of the stock. I used a clamped belt sander to finish shape the leather stack with smooth tapered sides and ends. I positioned the stack on the stock where it fit properly then cloth taped it in position, wrapping the entire riser completely around the stock diameter. I rough cut some deer skin with plenty of overlap then applied non-solvent contact cement to the deer skin and the tape/stock, letting the cement dry. Starting on the cheek side, stretch the deer skin over the stock and riser cutting off excess and allowing for a 1 inch overlap on the off cheek side and contact cementing the lap seam. cut off excess at sling swivle stud end and pistol grip end. I used Fiebings leather dye to darken the leather, let it dry then rubbed in bee's wax for waterproofing. See how it shoots this weekend but it's sure easy on the face.

Make me one and I will pay. Local pickup is possible.

It has to be stretched and cemented to the stock and can only be removed destructively. Because the cement is not solvent based it should not hurt the stock or the finish. If you live in the Greater Toronto area, Tandy Leather has deer skin and other hides fairly cheap. Stores in Scarborough, Mississauga and one in Barrie and the contact cement at Home depot LePage / LePage® Contact Cements & Spray Adhesives / LePage® Low Odour Contact Cement
