Howdy,

Next week I will be posting some stuff to sell that has been sitting on my wall for months without being touched. I want to get one of these Thermal drones for hog hunting and because the idea of hog hunting ISR feed makes me feel a special kind of way. Your are going to want something with a FLIR Boson or similar, or do you want a mechanical zoom? Two completely different animals and the drones can be radically different because of SWAP characteristics. What size of a UAV are you wanting and what kind of flight time?

We sell and run Autel thermal drones. Drive right to the spot where animals are. Dismount. Stalk in. Shoot. It feels like cheating, but pigs are so destructive and reproduce so quickly that it's the only way to get ahead (if we can even call it that).

The Autel is probably the best COTS fit for what you are looking for. Nice small package, not a lot of extra kit.

Haven't used it for this purpose yet but the enterprise is pretty cool. Plus the headlight attachment looks crazy as hell at night. A guy I know who's a hard core HUGE conspiracy nut who's always talking about it, I want to fly it to his house one night just to mess with him. Either the light flashing or put the speaker attachment on there.

But for what they are, they're pretty cool. I never priced out compare stuff, but I also figure if this is what's available now, hopefully a few more years it gets better and cheaper

I have the same one. Great little bird on the cheap. Got the “Enterprise” version with spotlight, RTK and speaker system.

I second that! I've been eyeing them @SkyScrapin's site. Have to see what how much of MY OWN money Uncle Sam gives me back this Spring. Could be my last thermal purchase, don't really need anything else now.

This thing is pretty sweet, gotta spend more time to see if I can get a white hot or black hot monochromatic thermal image. Day time picture is killer. Easy to use, very powerful.

Nah I'll take some pics and vids today, but you can overlay the thermal image with the 8k camera and it's pretty awesome. Kind of like a COTI on a day time camera. I wish there was a way I could focus the thermal for a better image but it really is just for scouting.

I tracked two yotes on my property with it last night. Spotted them from >500m away.

I find that Black Hot is the best pallet for Central Texas. Can pick-up tiny heat sources like coons or rabbits at 500 yards or more, then zoom on over and get a better look.

The flight time on the Enterprise Pro is impressive, even on Ludacris mode. I can cover 500 acres in about 5 minutes without missing much of anything even with the thicker cedar cover.

You're all warned -- you'll waist more time flying the drone than you will hunting. It's fun as hell!
