I bought what looked to be, and was described to be, a newly built AR-15 match rifle built by one of the top AR builders on gunbroker.
I got it in, and the 2nd stage of the trigger was FILED OFF, so it was actually a long single stage. I replaced the trigger with another Geissele and it works great now. Then I found that the bolt catch was FILED DOWN 1/8" because the button didn't properly fit in the upper (the button was oversized and it didn't fit in the slot on the upper, which caused the bolt catch to kick up and bind with the bcg). I replaced it with a normal bolt catch and it works perfectly now. The barrel was actually the brand he said it was, but it was not the same twist he listed it as, and fired more than a few times. When I questioned him about it he said "well I didn't remember exactly what twist it was". what???
Well I shot it with some of my hand loads that I shoot in the high power matches, and the best I could muster, with a scope, on a lead sled, was 2 moa. I figured something was wrong, so I took it home looked it all over, cleaned it up and went back out again.
PRVI 75gr match shot 5 moa, yes, 5+ inches at 100. PMC bronze shot about the same. Black Hills wouldn't group better than 2 to 2 1/2 moa. My hand loads did the best, and once got a 1.5" 3 shot group, but couldn't put 5 together better than 2 moa.
Do you guys think I have the right to get my money back at this point? The trigger was bad, the bolt catch was bad, the barrel doesn't have the twist I was told it had, and it shoots worse than any POS dpms chrome lined carbine I've ever seen. What can I do?
