Suppressors Do QD Systems improve the sound performance on a suppressors?

Can someone tell me in general if a 30 caliber suppressor has better or less suppression performance if you direct thread it to the barrel? Anotherwords, does the QD system act as an additional blast baffle, or does it take up more internal air space providing less suppression performance?
