Do you run a Big Max A4 press?

Re: Do you run a Big Max A4 press?

Depends if you get both shellholder systems.
One takes regular shell holders, the other is a universal shell holder, with 3 jaws if I remember right.
I think they screw off and are held in place by a set screw.

Hope this helps, it has been 20 years since I owned one.

The ram has a threaded hole in the top. Either a spring loaded 3 jaw assembly screws in or there is another attachment that screws into the ram that uses a standard shellholder. Both pieces have holes drilled in the sides that are used to tighten or loosen the part. You should have knurled tool that is used to install or remove the two different shellholders. Great press and I've loaded many thousands of rounds on mine. Here's a pdf manual for the Big Max. Looking at the parts diagram the two shellholders are part number 19 and 20.
