Down to the last decision on my build plan

Well after putting together a Savage in 6.5 x 47 Lapua. I have fell in love with the round. I've decided that this is what I'm going to build my first full out custom in. Here's my plan so far on the build.

Bighorn arms repeater action.
Manners T4a w/ mini chassis.
Bighorn 20moa base Badger rings.
Nightforce scope and Atlas bipod that will come off whichever rifle my little brother chooses for his present when he gets home from deployment.
Kreiger 6.5cal 8 or 8.5 twist @ 24" threaded for my can.

My last decision is contour. Which would be better for 75% steel and 25% coyote/deer hunting? Light Palma or standard/medium Palma? Possibly fluting either one to shave a little weight.

If you don't mind the weight while hunting the go with the standard/medium Palma. That's my opinion.

After humping my shit all over Kentucky at the mammoth challenge, I say light palma.

To quote one of the other fellas in my squad:

I'd like to find that mother fucker that figured out heavy barrels shoot better and kick him square in the balls.

If your steel shooting is just range shooting or tac matches where you rarely fire more than a 3-5 shot string at the most at one time, I'd certainly go light Palma. It's a good all around contour.

I've been toting a 25" M40 contour and I'm sure wishin I'd went with something a little lighter. I can shoot the hell out of it without it getting hot, but it sure is heavy.

I ordered the Manners stock on Friday with the Light Palma contour, hoping it would be heavy enough for what I'll be doing with it. Trevor pretty much nailed it right on the head. Anyone know what the muzzle od will be on a Kreiger light palma barrel cut to 24"?
