DPMS .308 rail question

I was looking at UTG rails and they can be found for cheap. My question is: if I get an aluminum tube free-float .308 or .260 heavy barrel upper, can I swap it out for an AR-15 UTG rail set? Thanks.

You do realize those rails are $60 for a reason when average rail prices are around $200, right?

No. There are better choices such as the stock one DPMS sells with their rifle, you should be able to buy one used cheap when someone else swaps it out. Dont forget if you have a new DPMS it is "special" and requires a different size FF tube.

I swapped the quad rail that came with my LR-308 AP4 out for a JP hand guard. The old one is sitting in my barn. It's a little scruffed up and Duracoated, but I'd be happy to send it to you for $115 (that includes shipping by USPS).
