Guys,
We debuted our Stock Chassis for a REM 700 SA. Expected to be in production by 1st QTR of next year. Has side folding stock, adjustable LOP and Adj Cheekpiece. Will have the option to install our monopod into the stock.

It's call the DT SWORD (sword because it's the longest thing we have made yet)

PS. This is also posted on our DTA thread, I posted it here too because I figured some non-bullpup guys might miss out on it.

I believe it's a 20" barrel. It may be a 22" barrel though, will try to check on it for you.

I also got to finger this at the show. I don't mean to blow or offend, but I'll share my initial impression...

I really like this chassis! It's was a prototype, but I really liked the fact that the forearm length can be changed and in my case I could drop some weight by using the covert forearm.

Additionally, It's got DTA's monopod, which is so fast to deploy and so stable it's almost laughable (in a good way). My buddy has a DTA, once in a while I shoot it and every time I do I conclude with laughter because the monopod is such an advantage that I've nicknamed it the cheaterpod.

The cheek riser and LOP use a similar quick adjustment mechanism and are both just as solid as the monopod.

To this point I sound like a cheerleader, but I do have a couple items I hope DTA addresses before going to production...

First, The DTA Sword has a built in folder. Like the Remington RACS on the XM2010, the DTA Sword folds towards the bolt knob. Also like the RACS, the Sword's stock is skeletonized to perfectly fit the bolt knob. So perfectly that I would be concerned that in it's current form it might have difficulty accommodating an upgraded tactical knob.

When unfolded the stock felt so solid it felt like it didn't even have a folder, but this brings me to my other hope...

When folded, the stock does not lock and can swing freely. It would be nice if the stock would have an equally positive lock when in the folded position.

Regarding price, the booth staff said MSRP was going to be around $1K.

Just my 2 cents.

Hmmm....looks great and price point is outstanding.

Ive been looking at either an AICS AX or a KRG Whiskey 3.

This is cheaper than either and if its anything like DTA's other products, I sure it rocks.

Do I want to wait?

Judging from all other products DTA manufactures, its safe to say it will definitely be a solid high quality chassis in the $3,000-$4,000 range anyway.

I got excited thinking you guys came up with a $2k bullpup 700 Chassis. Instead you chose to compete with AI. How sad.

A $2k bullpup chassis would sell and still compete directly with AICS sales. For suppressed use, your current platform is less than ideal for subsonic calibers. A bullpup chassis would cinch it.

Nice looking stock for the Remy 700, but the setup behind you looks intersting as well. That stock looks diffrent from mine, and I have a fairly new one. Is that the all alum butt plate?

Hey SR90 - looks good but Heads up if you want to sell to Australia you'll need a fixed stock version. Folding stocks are a prohibited import here.

Guys,
As far as the bullpup chassis idea goes wouldn't it be unreasonably difficult to operate the bolt? Your hand would go pretty much all the way back to where the buttpad was in action open position and it would lock about as far forward as our SRS bolt handle is when it's in its most rearward position?

The chassis looks excellent! I'm sure it will sell well.

Just to put a bee in your bonnet, I have yet to see a chassis for the Howa actions. I think that market is wide open if you have the interest. No doubt there is a lot of interest in a chassis for the Savage actions as well.

I wouldn't hold my breath on it. It took 2 months for me to get a scope mount. A new SRS order won't be in til November. Barrel conversions are 5 months out. These boys don't have no time for anything new. That sucks for those who want a left handed version, and those waiting on the double stack mag. In the meantime, I am loving my Covert, and am glad I placed my order for a can and .338 conversion a month ago! All I can say is its a good thing for us they didn't get the PSR contract because Civilians wouldn't be touching this awesome system for years to come!

I agree, somewhere I saw where someone had done this with a 700, and you would have to take the rifle off of your shoulder to manipulate the bolt, ergonomically impossible. BUT, what if you did a bullpup chasis for a Blaser? you could move the bolt handle to the front of the bolt, and even extend it some. OR, even better yet, DTA could build a lighter, somewhat more economical version of their rifle! Maybe if they did one that was not caliber convertable they could drop some weight and cost? I dream about a DTA that is 8-8.5lbs naked and somewhere around 4k, but I just can't quite swing 9.6lbs and $5200. I'm not a DTA expert, but wasn't there a "hunter" a few years back? I'm not trying to ruffle feathers, you guys make AWESOME rifles, I'm just saying what I'd like to see.
