Dumb question, I guess

This may be a dumb question for the well experienced folks here, but it's been bugging me so I'm going to ask anyway!:)

The AR-10 type platform seems to be quite versatile, but I don't see very much info on calibers more powerful than 7.62X51.

The .300 WSM and 7MM WSM seem to me to be ideal candidates for this size of rifle, but there is little information that I can find about their use.

Is there a good reason why these rounds are not generally available, and popular, in AR10 type platforms?? Thank You!!.

Very very few available bolts with a .535" diameter face, 308 extractors will not work with a 535" face. Armalite and DPMS stopped making followers for the magnum cartridges so the mags do not feed that well.
RSAUMs always fed better than the WSMs.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Which brings up another question. I haven't seen much about the RSUAMs either.

Forgive my rather geeky curiosity, But I've always been intriqued with the idea of magnum performance from a standard AR-10 style platform.:geek:

I think a lot of has to do with finding the correct parts. Most home builders are comfortable with a 223 308 and some other common calibers the exotics sometimes are finicky. If I was in the market for a magnum rifle in an AR version I’d probab buy one already done like a 300 win mag from Nemo or something .
