I grabbed a Savage 10 a few weeks ago (.308 with 16.5" bbl) with intent of having a rifle available for my kids or friends to use if they go to the range with me. My intention is for this rifle to be quite durable, not a bank breaker, and something that new folks can shoot out to 500 yds or so. I'm searching around for a "tough" scope, with magnification around 12x or so. It's been suggested I look at the offerings from SWFA and Primary Arms, but I also wanted to ask if there are any other manufacturer's I should look at with a reputation for durability?

Thanks!

Vortex strike eagle 5x25/56. about 650 on sportsmans guide and you can use 4 pay to help break up the cost. the scope should serve you well for a long time. plus the warrenty is great. if you use code WARPOET you save 20 more dollars. its a youtube channel i watch. Like kevin said you dont need a zero stop at 500 BUT if you decide to shoot at longer distance you have it. Glass is fair also. I have a gen 2 razor 4.5x27. I can tell a diff in glass but not enough to make me not want a strike eagle. Im not a scope expert just trying to help. These guys on here wont steer you wrong they have more knowledge than i do.

Solid Snake...
