RMJ Forge is probably know to many around here. Before Ryan had crafted his first Talon, Kestral or Crash axe, he spent 16 years as the man who made functional period hawks. Things changed greatly around his shop with the coming success of the Talon, in many ways the changes that occurred were a loss, as in the beginning, it was a remarkable family affair and Ryan had more time. Understandably, with the demands of the new lines, Ryan spent far less time crafting the period pieces and focused on the creation of the Talon. But in the Hey Day? Forging customs all day and posting shots of them on what was one incredible web site at night.
Somewhere around here is one of the very first Talon's ever made. One can identify them by hand cut cross hatches on the steel handle edges, their being sterile, and by early hand fit handle scales. I'll see if I can find it.
Here is a very early and rare piece. This is a copy of an original revolutionary war hawk, but the only Hawk I ever saw him forge in Damascus. Made for my wife a long time ago. Thought you might like to see it.
