Just thought I would throw this one out there. I used my pack to pack an elk out two years ago and it got a little blood on it, I didn't think too much of it and once the season was over I left it outside for a couple of weeks to air out. Last year we went in on horse back up in Wyoming and did not use it. This year I packed out three mulies that had been quartered up in the pack hunting with my cousins in Nevada, it got pretty damn bloody...beyond the couple of weeks airing out kind of bloody...here is where the story gets a little amusing. I asked the wife if she would mind taking it to the dry-cleaners, surprisingly she obliged. They rejected it, saying that the dry-cleaning would dissolve the material and the Industrial washer would beat it up too bad. I called the company to ask them their recommendations, they said to pressure wash it or take it to a car wash and if soap was needed to use woolite. Unbeknownst to me my wife brought the pack in from her car last night and gave it repeated soakings in our large garden tub (apparently making our bathtub look like something out of a horror movie) So when I woke up this morning my pack was freshly cleaned and hanging outside...I didn't even know that she had done it until she got home from work and told me, I saw it hanging outside, but figured she had just hung it up for me to deal with later.

She must be going for the wife of the year award or something! Shocked the shit out of me, she is not the outdoorsy type and doesn't like to get her hands dirty...never ceases to amaze me!

I teased her though and told her that if she REALLY wanted to be a good wife, she would go along with me and gut and quarter them so I wouldn't have too....(I think my grandpa married the last woman that would put up with that shit!

Eberlestock Dragonfly pack, I have been very happy with it, other than it hauls way more shit than I can walk with on my back!

Re: Eberlestock pack cleaning

Bubba,

Sounds like a special dinner is in order for the good lady's hard work....she sounds like a keeper.

As for the gutting and cleaning, we can but dream!

I'm guessing you'd highly recommend this pack to anyone

Re: Eberlestock pack cleaning

I have been happy with the pack. I sometimes over-do it though as it has so much storage area and then end up paying for it on the mountain....as far as the wife goes, yeah, she's tolerable I reckon! I might break down and take her to McDonalds or something

She gets her day tomorrow for "date night"
