Here is the chronology of our EDM Windrunner .338 Lapua experience. Purchased the rifle in person at a gun show in Utah. Received the rifle 3 months later. Right out of the box the M-60 bipod legs were found to be defective and would not lock into place. They were also found to be too short to keep the rifle stable and the rifle was prone to falling over sideways. A replacement set was sent and they too were marginal. We rebuilt a pair using the parts from the 4 legs and still could not get the locking mechanisms to function as required to make them usable. A fixed height pair was sent from EDM and they too were unstable and the rifle was prone to falling over sideways. Upon purchasing a set of scope rings from NightForce, the EDM scope mounting rail was found to be out of spec, and would not mount the scope to the rifle securely. The rings were sent back to NF to be checked for dimensions and were deemed to be in spec. A new scope mounting base was requested from EDM and were mounted and worked as required. A Elite Iron Sierra suppressor was ordered and received. Once the BATF cleared the transfer, the can was mounted on the rifle. The weight of the suppressor caused the rifle to be nose heavy and the rifle now falls forward into the dirt. The barrel was broken in, firing and cleaning as per EDM's schedule. At the 45 round mark the safely broke off. It is on its way back to EDM for repair and upgrades. All the problems should be fixed and Bill will test fire it before returning it next week. All a guy could ask for.
