On a rifle like an AX or RPR with a full length fore rail, does it help or mitigate mirage coming off the barrel compared to a barrel in the action without any rail or material above the barrel, or is it a null issue?
I generally don't shoot more than a dozen rounds between strings. Having owned both styles I don't actually recall a difference. Only place I've ever dealt with mirage is on the suppressor itself.
