Effective Range Out of the Box ?

I am in the market for a .308 ar-10

For the money this is the best one. But
I cant seem to find the effective range
for this particular rifle. I assume it can
go beyond 600yrds seeing as my .223 can do
it with a little help. Here is the link to

It's .308 man.

800 easy , up to 1000 yards

Should have no problem hitting at 1000.

just askin. i had a remy 308 sps varmint that wouldnt go past 700yd out of the box. but... then again i have a shakey hand hehe

DPMS makes a nice rifle for the price .

Definately would say its more up to you and the ammo than the gun.

I ran the numbers recently, the 168gr rounds out of a 20"+ guns should still be right around supersonic at 1k.

Not at sea level, except on a <span style="font-style: italic">very</span> warm day. And the 168 SMK exhibits bad behavioural characteristics when it gets into the transonic region - the angle on the boattail is too steep.

If you live at 5,000 feet, though, it will mostly work.
