I am looking into getting an Elcan Specter Dr..There are two different types in 5.56mm version(1x-4x....not 1.5x-6). The standard black one, and the "limited edition" FDE with CX5395 reticule. The price difference is $117.00. I cant find a difference other then color. I think they have the same reticule, but the FDE version has the CX5395/limited edition in its name. Is there a difference that I am not seeing or would I end up paying an extra 100+ for a dark brown(2015.00) vs. black(1898.00)?

Re: Elcan questions from noobie

You are strictly getting the different color. They had a few contract overruns that some distributors sold to .mil types and they were such a hit Elcan decided to make a civilian run of the brown ones to sell. The military contract Elcan Specter DR's (SU-230) are all the dark tan/brown color so many guys like them for their military clone rifles.

Here is a picture of my SOPMOD Block II with a contract overrun SU-230
