Elon in meltdown mode. H1B visa more important than Americans.

this is so true and has been so easy to see comps replacing people well before AI. look at check out at most large retailers. they now all have self check out. people are too stupid to understand who that puts out of work-not those brainy programmers! ultimately gets a lot of people with lower level tools for success onto welfare etc. that is part of the goal-dependence on gov.
of "high end jobs" that are a setup for AI are family practice and internal medicine. for the last 10+ tears they DO nothing. sit in the chair, ask a few questions and push meds. they don't do or prob don't remember how to do a physical exam,if they ever knew. if doing anything is required, they refer it out. this observation is universal from anyone of any age i have spoken to in years. the current corporate, protocol driven way is a setup for non human, machine driven work. get some data, apply a protocol-done!
A lot places are getting rid of self checkout because they are looseing too much product to theives in the self check line.

Same thing we would see with a computer applying a protocol to medicine. Way too much fucking up for a business to accept.

Good, they deserve it.

I’m at the point where I won’t go to places with self checkout. And if I am stuck in one, if the machine fucks up more than once, I just leave everything on the counter and walk out.

Let the idiot do nothing behind the counter see how that fits into their meth-head job description.

Sirhr

I prefer self checkout. Unfortunately to have these things we have to live in an honest society. My great aunt and uncle owned a service station. When they needed to run somewhere they would just leave it open and people would pay for what they took. Thier town has changed so much since then, they can't even put new bathrooms in the park as people literally break everything inside them. Probably the damn teachers unions fault. 🤣🤣🤣

Minimum wage hikes did not drive up prices. Fallout from the fake pandemic did. Printing trillions of dollars did. Driving up the price of property did.

Minimum wage workers are the smallest percentage of American workers.
Unions and other parasites / theft organizations base their theft rates on minimum wage. So

minimum wage hikes contribute to inflation and 'workers' losing their jobs. See CA and what the minimum wage hikes did there.
if you're paying 8 and the Gov says, pay 20, you have to raise your prices to make up the lost margin.

In before minimum wage hikes "create money".

In before someone tally’s the welfare low paid workers get that subsidizes “poor” companies like Walmart raking in mega $$$$.

Too much of our tax dollars back fill for greedy companies who use those tax dollars to stamp out competition.

Mandating minimum wage hikes to solve the predatory nature of the free market is as stupid charging tariffs to level the playing field with foreign competition……..🤔 oh wait.

A free market should be competitive NOT predatory. It is true that min. wage hikes often have bad outcomes. This should not be an excuse for having companies RAPE our economy and not treat workers fairly. The trick is to find ways to incentivize companies to do this of their own volition.

I have always wondered why there is not more profit sharing and employee ownership. Build in a system so as your company does better the employees do too. If the company does poorly the employees carry that too.

My brother has an ownership stake in a large environmental engineering firm. The 9 to 5ers get their pay but people like my brother, who worked their freaking ass off, have an opportunity for a partnership not unlike a law firm.

The reason this doesn’t happen more often is that owners see the $$$ they could keep, and then shut down the profit sharing process. Also, owners don’t have the brains and balls to run off low producers that they like or identify with. Even when it comes to hourly pay, owners will generally smile when paying $5 less/hr, but forget that that savings cost them several semi truck tires and missed loads last week alone. The careful annd experienced guy that you get for another $5/hr wouldn’t have made those mistakes. Everybody wants a free lunch. “That $hit ain’t free bro”.

Before all that ^. We need to ga w conversation about how the oligarchy try’s to squash small business at every turn

See tax policy’s. See concise policies. See big companies successfully lobbying for more regulations that they have whole compliance departments to deal with
Etc

you must work at CNN........
you just add words and try to act like someone said that... you said this >>>>>> Minimum wage hikes were what fucked up Cali.
I said 'contribute'.. never said that was the ONLY reason.
but it's the internet, so, I guess you can write anything you want.
I'm sorry supercorndog; your CA Gov that you vote and support is making you hit the bottle early.
don't forget your water bottle
