Googled a bit and haven't found anything within reasonable distance. I am just about done compiling parts for my edge build and have a smith lined up. I just need to find a place to stretch it out at. I see photos posted all over with our members firing from mountaintop across valleys and have no idea where they are firing.

Is there public land somewhere in the midwest where one could reach that 1 mile shot and beyond? I live in east nebraska and have contacted the DNR and they claim they have nowhere in the state that this distance could be covered.

So where do most of us go when we get the ELR itch to shoot?

Re: ELR places to shoot

Well you are in Nebraska. Given that one the states largest industries is farming I'd say make friends with a local farmer and offer to help keep his local varmint population under control.

yeah living in California is hard for us gun lovers, but for us ELR shooters, it's actually quite good compared to most spots in the country. We have alot of decent BLM and NF shooting opptys around the state, even though we may have to drive 2-5 hours depending, it's worth it. The scenery and variety of country make it a nice weekend trip.

no, no, no... that farmgound is way to flat, and to many farms/roads etc. for an ELR shot... you need to get out west, you know... there are alot of guys who own thousands of acres in the sandhills, i mean, how simple can it get... I gotta charge for my range.
