I thought I remembered seeing a thread once about being able to engage or disengage MTC on Tangent Theta 525’s, is that true? If so, can someone explain how it do it?

I had the TT with MTC I was never aware of a way to (disengage) never wanted to as it was so well executed. You may try calling TT and see if they can do it.
Mine doesn't have MTC and I'd actually prefer it to. I may call them next week.
I think you're thinking of the new MTC turrets S&B is developing that will allow you to turn MTC on and off yourself.
I talked with ATI this morning. The CCA (Tangent Theta’s MTC feature) cannot be disabled and they are not compatible with the P line of turrets. There was a limited run of them made in 2017, I could not get specific numbers, but very limited.
The CCA turrets are still serviceable and covered by the TT forever warranty. I made sure they still had parts available to service the turrets since they are no longer produced and was told they were still serviceable if it came back for warranty work.
