Rifle Scopes eo tech base????

Im looking at getting another eo tech and i wanted to go with the raised base this time, i have a 512 and i have to really get down on the gun to be able to use it. i was looking at the raised based models and i started thinking why not just go to the quick release model??? i was wondering if anyone had any experiance or luck with the quick release

Personally I would encourage you to go with an Aimpoint, but that is another debate.

Just like you stated, you really have to get down behing the eo-tech. Brownells and Botach Tactical sell riser mounts that you can buy from 1/2" to 1". They are not throw mounts, but how often do you plan to take your sight off the gun? Most people don't ever remove it, becasue they dont want to re-zero the gun/sight; so its an obsolete feature.

I personnally prefer the 3/4" riser if you are using the eo-tech. It should get you to the same height as an Aimpoint. That height for me is quite comfortable.

i looked at the rail riser mounts as a option.. and i also noticed checked out the eo tech with the raised mount built right into it but thought ide look into the feed back on the quick release... as for aim point, i looked at a few and liked them but i prefer the eo tech circle with 2 moa dot over just the standard dot... but i did like the fact the aimpoint had flip down covers on some models.. CHOICES!!!

I've used an EOTech 552 on my M4 for a deployment and a half and at home on my bushy. I've never had a problem with it at home or the year and a half it's been used during deployment. I went with the GG&G throw mount and lens covers shortly after my first deployment. Lens covers work great but the rear one was destroyed in a fairly short time after I got here. All be it I don't have the luxury of babying my M4. I really like the mount, I decided to put more money into weapons rather than get another sight so the throw arm helps with that when I'm home. And it should only take a couple of iterations to get zeroed if you have a bore sight. On the way home last deployment I found my EO Tech hanging on by it's tie down when walking to the bird on the flight line. A throw lever is a more positive lock that you can easily see if it gets disengaged. Just my .02.
