There's just a way I can see, though... The most ridiculously improbable shit in all the history of mankind, but it would work, I do believe.

It draws from the fact that highly influential people on social media can get millions of other people to do the same things roughly at the same time, all across the globe.

I think it's possible for almost all the good people in every city in every state in every country in the world to do the same things at roughly the same time.

I'm talking hundreds of millions of horsepower focused on the same problem -- getting out of this era.

I got more “news” from the bear pit last week then actual news.

I am spending time working with my children on REAL life news, like our tater crop coming in and teaching them how to hoe and cultivate. Or teaching my oldest Son how to can last weekend. Or the news that rain is coming for our garden....

Man, I hope my second son is a lot like the first. I've been working with my oldest boy to build an RC boat to drive around in the swimming pool. I work with him just about every day on it for about 30 minutes, for the last 2 weeks. We've got a hull (styrofoam board), a motor (harvested from an old toy), a shaft (a straw from the trash can), a propeller (carved from a sprite can, extra shitty design, too), a rudder (used wooden chopstick + plastic carved from the old toy body), a servo motor (spare parts bin), a piece of steel wire between the servo and rudder spar (or whatever you call it), the controllers, and the programming for the boat unit itself. Still need to make a controller with a single joystick for controlling the boat and another joystick for controlling other things that are on the boat.

Each component gets explained, tested, and agreed on, of course =)

The idea is we'll take an idea for a boat and implement it in a really shitty way that works, then gradually refine the idea (thus the boat) over time. Never too early to introduce kids to the scientific method, resourcefulness, and the product development life cycle.

I have a model rocket kit for building with my oldest here after the summer.

Awesome. I can't wait to get into rocketry, but I want to wait on that til he's got a good command of the fundamentals so I can try to let him do most of the thinking. Probably 2 or 3 years, I'd guess.

I'm really just stealing the model from those kid shows on youtube that teach ABCs, numbers, and colors, and mixing in some of the structure I've picked up from my career in software engineering. My kids like that shit, so... Why not?
