Well, gets you dead from cancer anyway.

Walmart Shrimp? I’d rather try gas station deviled eggs… better known as colon blowers!

Indonesian radioactive shrimp. Did not have that on my August bingo card of world idiocy! What became of Gulf shrimp? Or is shrimp caught in Bikini Atoll just a fraction of a cent cheaper?

Anyone go to the Walmart.com site yet and leave a glowing review?

"The amount detected in one of the shipments was below the FDA’s “derived intervention level” for Cs-137 and does not pose an “acute hazard” to humans. However, the FDA said the recall and other measures they’ve taken are to “reduce exposure to low-level radiation.”"

So the FDA is is writing new rules on the fly too?

I bought 2 lbs a week ago. Called Walmart headquarters and asked if mine glowed .
The customer service dude got all the info on the package I had , he quickly. told me mine came from Ecuador and wasn’t radioactive 🤔
I was going to shit-can it regardless , but I took it back for a refund.

Can’t find Gulf shrimps locally , may try a Mexican grocery store that sells it not frozen ….have no clue where they get it yet.
Damn , a few weeks ago I find out the gubmint allows a certain amount of maggots in Shrooms 😳 I guess I’ll just eat my home grown veggies and drink water and Beer.

I am more worried about residual chemicals and non-composted manures spread as "fertilizer" or sterilized sewage, than bugs. Mushroom medium is gonna end up with some maggots. Same goes for some vegetables that spoil along the way. Bugs is natural, we gonna be eating them in a few years anyway. 🤣🤣🤣

I once saw a lady drop her package of strawberries on the ground then throw it away. I thought it was stupid because they came off the ground.

Then I am in my office at an odd hour one day and in comes the exterminator spraying poison on the floor. He walks right up and sprays the ground on either side of me along the edges of my desk.

If you don't controll it, you never know.

I miss netting my own shrimp in coastal North Carolina.

Lake fish we eat a lot of - but as to controlling your own food supply- we have a picture (no I won’t share it with you heathens) of my son at 3 years old in his diaper holding a chicken leg- from a chicken that we raised and harvested standing in the strawberry patch with his fingers and face completely red with Strawberry juice - that was his lunch about that entire summer . Control your food people or it will control you .

Your list is correct - you omitted Korea, seen a “shrimp farm “ there once - shrimp were huge - almost as big as the turds in the nasty sewage they were living in

It was a waste water / brackish water reclamation plant and some entrepreneurial spirit decided to farm shrimp .

True !
But when a Dollar Store without groceries is their only competition within 10 miles adds up to slim pickings . 🫤

Being honest, it depends on the Walmart. We have two. One is as ghetto AF. The other is surrounded by gated communities and 55 plus neighbors. Totally different environment. Same in my last AO. The wife prefers Publix and recently began using Kroger delivery.

Dollar stores take customers Walmart bans.

We're well on our way to fucking up our sources of naturally grown & caught fish as well. There's a river spot I (used to) fish during the Walleye run that warns against fish consumption due to pollution from a paper mill.

Several studies have been conducted showing multiple varieties of fish contaminated with PFAS and/or microplastics.

There’s contaminants in food you grow, water you drink, and beer you make. A certain amount is allowed because it’s near impossible to get it all

The last raw oysters I ate were in Mobile Alabama . One tasted like what I’d think motor oil might taste like 🫤
I read today that over 1 million barrels of crude seeps into the gulf annually. Not from drilling operations, but from natural processes.

And, read much less recently, the oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill dissipated much more quickly than any one thought possible, due in large part to naturally occurring bacteria (specific to the Gulf of Mexico) that consumed it.

That’s a lot of oil dumping into the gulf for a long time, in order to evolve an organism that thrives in crude.

I bet you get more radiation from a flight or an X-ray than you would eating that. Probably even less than spending a day outside in the sun (you know, the massive fusion reactor in the sky). Good ole nuclear fear mongering. Definitely don’t go look up how much radioactive potassium you get from bananas and coffee 👀👀

Catfish are real tasty. But they have to be small. The big ones are nasty.
We ran lines and would catch 60-70 pound flatheads and tie them to the dock with 1-2ft of slack and let them fight for a handful of days seemed to clean them out pretty good. I also had a 75’ line right out back with a bell, convenient as hell just to get meat. I’d hear it ringing at 1-4am quite a bit, I’d walk out and wrestle a big cat and tie it to the dock half asleep. The old man next door and I pretty much lived on fish.

Crappie season was even better just set up a cleaning station and deep fryer out back for dinner

Dirty Jobs. Mike Rowe had an episode about farming tilapia.
They were fed waste water solids.

Haven't eaten tilapia or farmed shrimp since then.

Got a friend married to an Indian. They go back to Goa every year. Seen pictures of their Shrimps aka Prawns. Bigger than a cats hind leg. Wonder what’s wrong with them ? Fresh for sure But ??

I like catfish , but I seldom eat them from the Arkansas River..which is across the street from me.
I have a freezer full of Crappie caught out of the near by lake. My nephew catches , cleans , and gives them to me. He’s allergic to fish , but loves to go fishing. 🤨
I’ll eat them even though a Nuclear Plant is right on the lake.
Can’t win , might as well not die hungry. 🥺

This is why I don't eat tilapia either or any commercial pond raised fish. I've seen the fish farms in south Tx where the chicken farms down the road clean the coops and take it to feed the fish.

We have a good family friend - my dad’s best friend for probably 60 years . He has a series of grow pounds , some connected with drain creeks and he raises pan fish for pound stock. He feeds mostly with maggots - the maggot house is gross , and it stinks like rotten meat/vegtables but he’s feeding his fish basically worms, grubs larvae whatever . Not shit - human or otherwise .

Not just the Arkansas river. Several lakes in the state have warnings about the amount of mercury their fish contain. The mercury is naturally occurring in the environment though. Even Mother Nature is against us.
I was fishing a harbor on Lake Michigan when suddenly this guy starts shouting at me that I'm not allowed to fish there, blah blah blah. Near some marine & mechanic type shops. I politely yell back, essentially, WTF? thinking he was pissed I was fishing "his" water.

Bro shouts back "This is an EPA Super Fund site!"

I paddled my little kayak out of there just as quick as I could.

Humic acid fertilizer additives are just about one step away from crude oil. Plenty of natural process that use the "oil" that seeps out of the ground. That we have been falsey led to beleive is some sort of major contaminate. That we are responsible for and must clean up.

The oil from that spill didn't disapte faster than anyone thought. Lots of people were calling bullshit on their claims of how long the Contamination would last. That was another mild situation the government goatfycked into an ordeal. And people were calling bullshit for the exact reasons mentioned. The extra oil would cause a bloom of diffrent things that use it and diffrent things that eat those things. Almost like someone designed the system to work that way. 🤯🤯🤯

There are super fund areas on the Great Lakes for sure - if you didn’t see epa navigational markers then probably not and he tricked out of his sweet spot .

Basically all water around here is arksasa river water. So most all the fish I ate in my life are from the Arkansas. I died though. 🤣🤣

No worries though. We have to send 60% of any stored water to KS every year, so..... there is no good place to fish anymore anyway.

usually it's chickens on top, then shrimp below that, then tilapia on the bottom to catch everything else.
wire mesh screens separate so it's easy clean up and harvest.

Yep I recently learned crude oil is a "natural" substance not a contaminate. crazy
