Re: Expected MOA from an out of the Box Remington
not all straight out of the box, but you get the point!
223 Rem, Model VSF (new Stainless model) came from LE center with PSS stock. Sold stock replaced with McM A5 no bedding. Will shoot .300 to .500 with reloads. Had issues with bolt face NIB figured I would shoot it before contacting Remington turned out to be a good idea.
308 XCR LR tactical, Sold stock and replaced first with AICS and then McM a5, Rifle is a 1/2 MOA constant rifle.
308 SPS tactical #1 Replaced hogue stock with B&C light varmint or whatever stock. .75 MOA rifle average.
308 SPS tactical #2 I acquired it in the AICS I put my XCR LR into. Rifle would do 1/2-3/4 moa with black hills 168
Original Blued model Sendero 7mm Rem mag. Bone stock with reloads would do 3/4moa
308 PSS bone stock would do 1/2-3/4 moa with BH and Fed GM
260 Rem 1-1.5MOA out of the box, bedded it and with some decent load work got that down to a constant 1/2MOA
243 Rem ADL (old cheap factory stock) 1MOA with factory and was able to get a little better with hand loads. Replaced factory stock with HS Precision and rifle turned into quite the little game getter
260 Model 7 Had accuracy issues at first but replaced cheap stock with HS and it turned right around. under 1MOA and a very handy small rifle.
I have had pretty good luck with Remy's, yes there are some QC problems but with some decent reloads you should expect under 1MOA in most cases if the conditions are right. Since I have switch away from most optics and went to Leups my groups have improved.
I have a couple built in odd calibers etc, but that wouldn't be an out of the box experience, neither would most that I have listed but you can see in most cases a small change will make a big difference.
