Headline: 'Exploding Bullets - Not Hairspray - Caused Bomb Scare at Miami Airport: TSA Exploding bag contained 700 bullet primers'

"A man has been arrested after FBI and TSA officials said his luggage contained volatile gun parts, which caused his bag to explode Tuesday just before it was about to be loaded on a plane.

The unidentified 37-year-old man had 500 to 700 bullet primers in his luggage. Primers are considered the "spark plugs" of a bullet and ignites the gun powder, projecting it toward the intended target."

Apparently primers = bullets in the eyes of the media. Something is missing from this story. I have abused live primers and never had anything like this happen, much-less I can't see the chain reaction they claimed occurring. I suspect this is simply sensationalist TSA reporting in an attempt to justify their jobs.

I agree 100%, there's a lot more than what we're being told here. Of course we ARE talking about the liberal media so what exactly do you expect different?
I have a hard enough time getting every one to fire anyway, I suspect his were some secret gov't issue since they went off on their own. LOL

Have you ever really sat and watched some bag handlers. I can see, barely how they might have set the primers off, But yeah, the story was full of all kinds of mis information. Since when were primers considered part of the gun?

The only real facts in the story is that it is illegal to carry them on a plane. BUT if you load the ammo, its ok in certain quantities.
