I am linking a thread from another forum as I know this will be of interest to many of the users here. I came across this thread on a completely different shooting forum, and thought it was worth sharing here.

Some very extensive testing done with a bunch of different "gun care products"/lubes. It's interesting to see how these lubes actually perform.

Problem is there have been several tests that have different results. Got to wonder about the validity of any test that puts Froglube up as anything even close to acceptable. It does not stay put in hot weather not cold weather.

The Hornady One Shot is pretty good stuff though. I have been using the 4 in 1 on several firearms.

Yeah, unless everybody tests with the same methods, criteria and conditions, they will always be different. I just look at it as a good place to start. Then I do my own T&E in real time.

I had the unique pleasure of helping WD-40 launch the Specialist line in the retail market-place. I discussed with them the possibility of looking into the firearm usage; however, I was unable to pursue given my management's "concern" with labeling products for "Gun" use. [Note: Not WD-40, but a particular retailer of which I will not name here] For instance, a normal 14-Gun Safe was called an "Executive Safe" during Black Friday deals...

WD-40 is a great company. Their push into individual use products was a great move and they have awesome chemists. They assured me that the Rust Inhibitor was going to be a good product for anything to inhibit corrosion and rust, and it would last longer than any other inhibitor being marketed at the time. (Much Longer)

I am switching my oil staple to Frog Lube... without a doubt. Rem Oil has never failed me, but seeing these results... it does everything Rem Oil does with more corrosion resistance.

Have you used Frog Lube? I run it on all my AR's and I live in Arizona. Last summer I ran 400 rounds through my AR-15 in 108 degree heat and it was still wet afterwards. I put it back in the safe when I got home and then took it out a week later and ran another 200 through it and once again was still wet. I never a cleaned the rifle in between or re-applied the product. When I finally did clean it was super easy. Frog Lube is a great product in my opinion.
