What extra parts should I buy for my Remington 700 (i.e. because of supply and demand, emergency preparations)? Sorry for the ignorant question, I am a little new at all this but I would just like to know what extra items to buy. Thanks everyone.

you wont really need any parts. some guys like to switch out the extractor for a sako extractor. some guys say if it aint broke dont fix it. the remy 700 is a great design like the 1911 and the small block chevy.

The classic answer for most firearms is the extractor, ejector, firing pin and any springs, pins and rivets to install the above.
The scope is another failure point (less so with some of the higher end tactical mounts than lighter weight sporting mounts), including the mount and bases. When go to an out of state shoot have been known to toss in an extra scope and rings (i.e. have an older 1" Leupold for this purpose and testing new guns).
But for a Rem 700 I went with the package deal, another rifle ;-).

Can do like a friend of mine and get a light weight 308 with a Nightforce scope for the other half ;-).
I like to take apart the bolt at least once a year (holder over from hunting in norther Michigan in cold weather) for cleaning, inspection and lube. Getting old enough that the little plastic bolt disassemble tools helps (looking at the nicer aluminum ones .. but still looking).
