My point exactly.

If the politicians had to please US, the TAXPAYERS and not those on public assistance, the political landscape would change quickly and dramatically.

Politicians will always be... politicians. But if you change their motivation, we might have a chance to save the Republic.

I don't have the answer, but I think we can all see the problem.

In the words of Greg Langelius, "You eliminate ghettos with a simple tool, it's called a scholarship. You don't promote learning and stimulate society by making the process exclusive, you do it by making it universal."

I'd love to see life time limits set on welfare with mandatory drug testing and no benefits for law-breakers. You can only be a wart on the ass of society for so long and then you're on your own.

Pick yourself up by the bootstraps and do something for yourself and your future generations or learn to do without.

I don't want to get political as one of the greatest aspects of this forum is the ability to refrain from political bias. I refuse to generalize based on race, color or creed. I, along with many members here, raised my right hand and swore an oath to support and defend all enemies foreign and domestic. As I see it, the enemy is among us and we have weakened a Nation during a world apology tour. Until recently, I thought we were a Republic? Washington is broke and not just in financial terms. Go along to get along doesn't work anymore. Those that represent us in the House and Senate need to be reminded that they work for us and not the other way around. Vote in November and send a message to those that aren't listening.

My wife and I were married 3 years before we had our first child. We wanted to make sure that we were financially prepared. These savages have as many kids as fast as they can. With zero plans for the future, other than getting a bigger government check.

Nothing is fair. Especially when it comes to big Gov & getting elected. What do you think there are more of Disabled Vets or Illegals w/ Anchor babies ? I barely receive $250 for my service connected injuries, have been told that I'm not eligible for a higher % nor any other assistance since I am a "VietNam era" Vet. An Illegal w/ Anchor baby can draw just shy of $1500 a MONTH, Plus Medical & Food Stamps. I Can't get that & I REFUSE to go to the nearest VA (Tuskegee, AL) because well people go in & NEVER come out !!!

That's a travesty Will. Have you ever thought about trying to see if that can be upped? I have service connected stuff and am still going through appointments to finish my C&P.
So far:
40% TBI, Polytrauma, memory loss, short term issues, migraines
20% Bi-Lateral Knees, Osteoarthritis, Condromyplaisia(sp?)
** waiting, Spinal exams for running in full IBA, blah blah
** waiting, Pulminary Funtion testing for numbness in both arms and wrists
** waiting, PTSD exams
The Combined Rating table makes me 50% Service Connected DV as of now.
Each and every time I go to the VA I see Viet Nam Vets that have less percentage than me there trying to get things 'right' so they can receive what they have earned and deserve. It really makes me feel seriously unworthy, but currently it is paying for the house(roof over their heads, heat/AC, Power) so the family is fine while I try to find a new career(Aside from politics a career in Behavioral Psychology working with Soldiers is what I am aiming at) Voc Rehab should make life a bit easier to manage once I am done with the VA stuff.


Maybe this President thing has merit. I'm not the best guy to ever think about running for office, and am really not intrested in it, but shoot it sure seems better than what and who I am seeing running stuff.
Politically we all have a lot of work to do to try to fix this beautiful place we call America to make it the utopia we have all at one time dreamed of having. I for one am willing to do what I can if I can find people worthy of my sweat

Switch, you're looking too far ahead. Get a Senate seat first and vote present for three years then run for President. Then you'll be more qualified than the Obasm, you actually belong to a reputable community, the Snipers Hide, LOL. I just finished my bottle of Makers Mark, can you step it up a little?
