Suppressors Favors for approval?

So I had that hiccup with paperwork the other day so I called the AFT. Well the person who is assigned to my file gave me a call and we got it all straightened out.

My question is, they said I could call them back in a few weeks to see If it was approved or not, so I have the personal line. I am over here thinking ****CAN I ASK**** while they are in the process of approving my 30 cal muffler, If could get my Rimfire one that I ordered last month reviewed at the same time? Jump in line and just get both approved at the same time?

My wife says that its weird if I ask and that its like asking a government official for a "favor." That it will look bad on my part.

What are your guys thought?

I would say you got the first problem handled rather easily and that can will maybe be approved fairly soon. I would leave well enough alone and just be glad you will have one suppressor shortly rather than potentially do something to set you back longer. We are all in this waiting game together. Everyone has to do their time.

So, I asked an atf agent waiting on a personal form 4 if they get special treatment. He told me that asking sent you to the bottom of the pile.

Don't know if they treat the public the same, but it could be risky. But I've also heard about forms going through very quickly after a phone call, so who knows.

Don't know about one, but I've heard of people who submit several call and inform the person and they got 'em mass approved --I guess it was easier that way. I've had 'em approved in bulk but they were sent in an even larger bulk by the dealer. And I've had two Form 1's approved same time, another they came a month apart.

But I've only called 'em once in close to 20 different forms submitted over the years, and that was for one that I'd already waited on 14 months (it was one of the first post 41f submissions). I didn't get it any faster, but they did inform me it still existed and was on the way. Got it next month.

All the phone call did was slow them down.

I'll just wait. If the rimfire comes early, cool. I'm not too worried about the rimfire. My muzzle break + 24" barrel + sub sonic ammo is pretty dang quiet already. The muffler is just really for the 17 hmr when I want to hunt small game. The 30 is the one I really don't want to wait on (its the one I bought last year). I want to use this year for a hunt and to put it on a 30-30 lever... might use a lever this year to hunt, I dont know yet.

mine were bought 10 months apart... so there is a nice gap between them.

I’ve never called to check status for anything, seems counterproductive to forgetting about them. I had practically forgot I had one in the pipe till I got the email yesterday saying my stamp was back! 10 months individual, was expecting 12
