Any info on the production year or value of these two pump action .30-06? One is a "carbine" and one is regular length. I am considering purchasing them from a neighbor but want to make a fair deal.

Wrong forum. But I'm sure someone out there can answer the questions...
Nice hunting rifles, not precision shooters though.
If you are looking to bag a whitetail at 200, they'll get the job done.
Just seen one on gunsamerica.com...
looks late 60's, early 70's but I didn't dig into the serial number.
I'm sure a quick call to Remington customer service would answer your date question...
Anyway, the one that was posted was identical & was listed for $465.00 but personally, I wouldn't pay more than $350-$400.
Hell, for general hunting I had rather go to Dick's Sporting goods & spend $150 on a H&R Handi Rifle, single shot chambered for 308 or .243.

You can fix the rattle on the forearm. Anyway $400 for both would be the max I would pay, these rifles are capable of shooting 2" groups and can take game at a max of 500 yards accurately, I have an uncle with one of these and its his favorite hunting rifle.

Hard to tell much from the pics in terms of year of production or a specific value. The wood and metal on both seem to be pretty rough in spots (particularly the top pic with respect to the wood around the grip area and the overall finish). How do the bores/crowns look? Any cracks in the stocks running from the receiver area back toward the buttplates?

Remington pump .30-06 rifles are fairly cheap and abundant so even assuming decent condition...they aren't worth a whole lot. I wouldn't go more than $250ea assuming that they are in the shape observable in the photos and have no other problems you can detect from a basic visual inspection. The one with the Leupy Vari-X scope might be worth slightly more based on the scope itself, but the bushnell banner on the other is a real POS, as are the mounts/rings on both.

As is typical with Remington QC (even back then) some of these rifles were minute of barn door (but only if shooting from INSIDE the barn) while others. and most in my experience, were 2MOA (or slightly better) guns more than suitable for your average shorter range whitetail excursion.

Personally, I'd offer the guy no more than $650-700 total for both Remingtons and both of the wallhangers you posted about in the shotgun section and see if he bites. That's a fair price to you but you may end up offending him if he somehow thinks that they are worth something more or have some particular "sentimental" value to him.
